A coffee plunger, commonly known as a French press, is a manual coffee brewing device that immerses coarsely ground coffee beans in hot water. After steeping, a plunger with a fine mesh filter is pressed down to separate the grounds from the brewed coffee, resulting in a rich and aromatic cup. How It Works Preheat the Plunger: Pour hot water into the plunger to warm it up, then discard the water. Add Ground Coffee: Use approximately 10g of coarsely ground coffee per 180ml of water. Pour Hot Water: Add hot water (just off the boil) to the grounds, ensuring they are fully saturated. Stir and Steep: Gently stir the mixture and let it steep for about 4 minutes. Press the Plunger: Slowly press the plunger down to separate the grounds from the brewed coffee. Serve Immediately: Pour the coffee into cups and enjoy.
